Alice Herrwegen

Alice Herrwegen was born in Cologne in 1956 and grew up in the Sülz district. She studied French and philosophy. From 1979 onward, she was involved with Cologne dialect theatre; from 1995, she worked as a language and seminar adviser at the Akademie för uns kölsche Sproch and was active for many years as a freelance cabaret artist performing in Kölsch. Her publications include the grammar book “De kölsche Sproch,” the “Mer liere Kölsch” textbooks and CDs, the guide “Kölsch för Imis,” and a collection of cabaret texts. She also wrote the plays “Levve live” (1990) and “Schälock Holmes” for Cologne’s Hänneschen Theatre.
