Alfred Bekker

Alfred Bekker was a German-language author of crime fiction, fantasy, science fiction, historical novels, and books for children and young adults. He also contributed to suspense series including “Jerry Cotton,” “Kommissar X,” and “Ren Dhark.” Several of his crime novels are set in East Frisia: Bekker’s family came from the region on his father’s side, and he learned to sail on the Großes Meer there at the age of ten. He later used the area as a setting for his novels.
