Alexandra Cavelius (born 1967) worked as a freelance author and journalist and published articles in magazines. Her books include “Leila – Ein bosnisches Mädchen,” “Die Himmelsstürmerin,” “Die Zeit der Wölfe,” “Die Kronzeugin,” and “Die China-Protokolle.” Together with traumatologist Jan Ilhan Kizilhan, she wrote “Ich bleibe eine Tochter des Lichts,” about a Yazidi survivor, and “Die Psychologie des IS.” Her work has addressed war, Islamism, traumatized survivors, and radicalized perpetrators. Her 2002 nonfiction book “Die Zeit der Wölfe,” about a Chechen family, drew the ire of the Russian government.
