Alexandra Bracken was born and raised in Arizona. She studied history and English and worked in publishing for several years before becoming a full-time author. She is best known for the series The Darkest Minds, which was adapted for film, and for the novel Lore, which appeared on the German Spiegel bestseller lists. Her books have been translated into more than 15 languages. She wrote her first novel during her studies as a gift for a friend.
