Alexander Sitzmann

Alexander Sitzmann, born in Stuttgart in 1974, studied Scandinavian and Slavic Studies at the University of Vienna, where he worked in research and teaching. Since 1999, he has worked as a literary translator from Bulgarian, Macedonian and the Scandinavian languages. He has also worked as an editor, academic author and reviewer. In 2004, he received the Honorary Award of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Culture, and in 2016 the Austrian State Prize for Literary Translation.
