Alexander Haas

Alexander Haas is a zoologist, professor of zoology, and curator of herpetology at the Leibniz Institute for the Analysis of Biodiversity Change. He studied at the University of Tübingen and the University of California, Berkeley, and earned his doctorate from the University of Tübingen. He developed an early interest in herpetology. Following field research on Borneo in 2001, he became particularly engaged in rainforest biodiversity and the study of frogs. Haas has published numerous scientific articles and has conducted fieldwork in, among other places, Argentina, Australia, Europe, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United States.
