Alex Ferguson, born in Glasgow in 1941, is a Scottish former football player and manager. As a player, he represented clubs including Glasgow Rangers. He began his managerial career at East Stirlingshire and won three Scottish league titles and three cups with Aberdeen. From 1986 to 2013, he managed Manchester United, leading the club to 38 titles, including 13 English league championships, five FA Cups and two UEFA Champions League victories. In 1999, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.
