Aleks Byrd

Aleks Byrd is an author who grew up in the United States and has Estonian roots. Through her family, she developed a strong connection to Estonian culture. She taught herself traditional Estonian knitting techniques using antique books. She also traveled throughout Estonia, meeting knitters and researching traditional patterns and instructions. In her knitting patterns, she combined this knowledge with modern design ideas.
