Aleister Crowley

Aleister Crowley (1875–1947) was an English occultist, writer, and poet. Born in England, he was a longtime member of the esoteric order the Golden Dawn and later took over the leadership of its English branch. Crowley published numerous works on occultism, magic, and Thelema, including *The Book of the Law* and *The Book of Thoth*, an interpretation of the Tarot cards.
