Alberto Angela (born in Paris in 1962) is an Italian palaeontologist, natural scientist and science journalist. He studied natural sciences in Rome and took part in excavation projects in Africa and Asia. In Italy, he became known as a presenter of popular science television programmes. His books about life in antiquity include *A Day in Ancient Rome* and *Pompeii*. He published several works together with his father, Piero Angela, a well-known journalist and author.
