Albert Ostermaier, born in Munich in 1967, is a German poet, playwright and novelist. His first poetry collection, “Herz Vers Sagen,” was published in 1995; his first play, “Zwischen zwei Feuern. Tollertopographie,” premiered the same year. His novels include “Zephyr” (2008), “Schwarze Sonne scheine” (2011), “Seine Zeit zu sterben” (2013) and “Lenz im Libanon” (2015). His poetry and plays have been translated into numerous languages and performed internationally. Ostermaier has received, among other honours, the Kleist Prize, the Bertolt Brecht Prize, the Ernst Toller Prize and the WELT Literature Prize for his body of work.
