Alafair Burke

Alafair Burke studied psychology at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and later graduated from Stanford Law School. She worked as a deputy district attorney and for the prosecutor’s office in Portland, and taught criminal law at Hofstra Law School. Her experience in criminal law informed her crime fiction, including the New York Times bestselling Ellie Hatcher series and the thriller *The Wife*. Alafair Burke is the daughter of novelist James Lee Burke.
