Ahmed Arif

Ahmed Arif was born in Diyarbakır and worked as a poet, proofreader, and editor. He was imprisoned several times because of his poetry and had to discontinue his studies. His only poetry collection published during his lifetime appeared in 1968; it was reprinted extensively and also pirated. A second collection was published posthumously in 2003.
