Ahmad Tohari

Ahmad Tohari, born in 1948 in Tinggarjaya in Central Java, is an Indonesian writer. He studied medicine, economics and social sciences and worked for various magazines. He has published several novels since 1980. His best-known works include a trilogy whose first volume is *The Dancer of Dukuh Paruk*.
