Aglaja Veteranyi

Aglaja Veteranyi (1962–2002) was born in Bucharest into a circus family. After training as an actress, she worked as a freelance actress and writer. In 1999, she published her first novel, “Warum das Kind in der Polenta kocht” (“Why the Child Is Cooking in the Polenta”), which received numerous awards. She died in Zurich in 2002.
