Adrian Tomine (born in 1974 in Sacramento) is a cartoonist and illustrator. He became known for his comic series “Optic Nerve,” published by the Canadian publisher Drawn & Quarterly since 1995, and for his illustrations for “The New Yorker.” Tomine published his first comics at the age of 16. He studied English literature at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1996, he received the Harvey Award for Best New Talent; in 2007, “Optic Nerve” No. 11 received the Ignatz Award for Outstanding Comic.
