A. A. Milne

A. A. Milne (1882–1956) was a British writer and humorist. Born in London, he died in Hartfield, Sussex. Milne worked for various magazines and served for a time in the First World War, but was discharged because of illness. In addition to the mystery novel “The Red House Mystery” (1922) and the play “Mr. Pim Passes By” (1921), he wrote children’s books and poetry. He became internationally known above all for his stories and poems about Winnie-the-Pooh, written for his son, Christopher Robin.
