With Lionel tightening his grip on Solaria and the rebels risking everything to fight back, the characters are pushed to their absolute limits. As secrets are revealed, loyalties are tested, and impossible choices have to be made, the battle for the throne becomes more dangerous than ever. At this point, I can confidently say that I’m completely attached to these characters. Their friendships, relationships, and individual growth are what keep me invested in this series, and I genuinely love following every single one of them. That hasn’t changed at all. Just like the previous books, this installment was incredibly entertaining and emotionally exhausting in the best way. However, I do think this could have been significantly shorter. Did I enjoy the romance and the spicy scenes? Absolutely. But there were simply too many of them, and they often slowed down the pacing. At over 1,000 pages, the story definitely dragged in places, and I found myself wishing for a tighter edit. What keeps me reading isn’t necessarily the plot anymore, it’s the characters. I’ve become so emotionally invested in them that I need to know how their stories end. But after seven books of watching them suffer, lose, sacrifice, and fight, I’m desperately waiting for something to finally go their way. Seeing them constantly battle Lionel and his awful shadow-loving sidekick without getting the victory they deserve is becoming increasingly frustrating. At this point, I just need to see those two finally get what they deserve. And can we PLEASE talk about that ending?! Without spoiling anything… WHAT. THE. HELL. There is absolutely no way that can be the end. I refuse to believe it. If that ending is real, I honestly don’t know how I’m supposed to recover. I immediately needed to pick up the next book because there was no chance I could leave the story there.

Die erste Hälfte war etwas schleppend, aber wichtig, um die Charaktere noch tiefer zu fühlen und ihre Entwicklungen zu verstehen. Ab der zweiten Hälfte zieht die Spannung extrem an – ich konnte nicht mehr aufhören zu lesen. Und dann dieses Ende … überraschend, brutal und einfach zerstörend. Mein Herz ist gebrochen, aber genau deshalb liebe ich diese Reihe. 📚💔

Reviewed by Kary 💃🏼WAS war DAS? Ich sag hier nicht viel, aber das was ich sage ich: Es war zäh wie Kaugummi. Es passiert eigentlich echt so einiges, aber auch irgendwie nicht. Weißt du was ich meine? Dann, auf den letzten 150 Seiten, passiert so unfassbar viel. KEINE verdammte Person bleibt ungeschoren. WTF! Ich bin so unfassbar sauer. Ich kann dem Buch leider nicht mehr an der Bewertung geben, die ich gegeben habe. Es tut mir Leid. Ich werd jetzt erstmal eine Zodiac-Pause einlegen und warten bis ich Band 9 auch da hab, um alles in einem Rutsch zu lesen. 🙃
