Reviewed by CarinaOookay. Where to start. I really loved the Japanese Korean settings. The world was amazing and I loved Yumi and Nikaro and all of their interactions. Basically I loved the whole book BUT I felt the pacing, much like in Tress, to be very off. Like Tress it goes on so slowly only to have the end be very fast.<br/>Also while reading I immediately got a Final Fantasy X vibe. I laughed so loud when I read in the post script that it was actually an inspiration for it.<br/>Also I really enjoy Hoids commentary.

I really enjoyed reading about the two main characters, seeing how there relationship and their personalities developed and how they tried to navigate the situation. I also loved how friendship, the meaning of art and hard work and selfexpression were portrayed and explored throughout the story.
Reviewed by LissyThis book was my first Sanderson-book and already buying another one while still being on this one is telling it all. The character-development was great and everything I wished for, I loved the settings of a more ancient and another more modern setting. The way of telling through a narrator being partially involved in the story was amazing, I have never witnessed anything similar and I fell in love with this way of storytelling. And just the cherry on top Sanderson being inspired in this book by one of my favourite anime-movies and my no. 1 favourite video game of all time? Sanderson, I thank you.
