Reviewed by Peggy Payne Set in dual timelines, this book reminds us .... "....how deeply the decisions of the past had shaped the future." Beginning in 1940 in Champagne, WWII is on the horizon. We follow Michael and his wife, Inès and Theo, and his wife, Céline who are winemakers. German soldiers begin to arrive and everything changes. in our other timeline, 1940, New York, we meet Liv who is recently divorced. Her grandmother, Edith, shows up to whisk her off to her home in Paris. There is so much going on in this one. WWII, the resistance, winemakers, love, betrayal, loss, redemption. Kristin Harmel is a wonderful historical fiction author!
