Reviewed by Natálie ČukaI was enjoying the slow story and how it enrolls. That emotion - feeling is the life itself. Somehow it made me feel like time on planet Earth doesn't really matter but the collective experience of life is all worth it - that is what matters the most. Life is unfair, confusing, painful, annoying but that is the point. We live in a dual world in balance, that means - even the greatest suffering is balanced out by the greatest good on this planet. I cannot give all five stars because main character was little too translucent, too perfect, and when I finished the story I said out loud: "Where is the end?!" Ending was poetic but not grounded. The whole story feels like a plastic bag floating in the air, just going with the wind. Still with this story I made some sweet bean paste myself and was enjoying the whole process. My favorite memory from Singapore is sweet bean paste mochis after all. Writer... thank you for this story, haven't read such a soft storytelling in a while, and even though the story was sad, it gave me - your reader hope. Hope that just living life is enough.
