Reviewed by FallendreamsEs war mein zweites Lucy Score Buch und ich wurde absolut null enttäuscht. Ihr Humor und ihr Schreibstil überzeugen mich jedes mal aufs neue und in diesem Buch musste ich öfters laut loslachen. Als das Buch bei mir ankam, war ich etwas erschlagen von der Seitenanzahl. Eine Romance mit ca. 600 Seiten? Tatsächlich gab es aber so gut wie keine Längen in dem Buch, weil in Story Lake ständig Trouble herrschte. Ich konnte mich regelrecht in die Geschichte fallen lassen und fühlte mich selbst wie eine Bewohnerin in der Kleinstadt. Die beiden Hauptcharaktere Cam und Hazel hatte ich von der ersten Sekunde an ins Herz geschlossen. Cam ist der typische Grumpy Kerl, mit dem nicht gut Kirschen essen ist. Doch er hat mich und Hazel relativ schnell davon überzeugt, dass mehr hinter seiner grummeligen Fassade ist. Nicht zu vergessen Cams Geschwister Levi, Laura und Gage! Ach, eigentlich alle in der Kleinstadt konnte man (bis auf Emilie und Nina) ins Herz schließen. Keiner kam zu kurz und hatte seinen Auftritt. Der Humor von Lucy Score brachte mich mehrmals zum schmunzeln oder sogar zum laut loslachen. Genau das liebe ich an solchen Büchern! Natürlich wurde relativ früh angeteasert, um welches Paar es sich in Band 2 drehen wird.. Und darauf freue ich mich sehr! ;) Tatsächlich hätte es für mich die letzten 100 Seiten überhaupt nicht mehr gebraucht. Die sorgten eher dafür, dass ich einen Stern abziehen musste. Gefiel mir leider nicht mehr so gut. Fazit Ein tolles Kleinstadt-Setting mit einer frisch geschiedenen Protagonistin über 30. Eine ordentliche Portion Humor und Tiefe. Klare Empfehlung.
