The fear is deep in her, like the Wroclaw forest, through which her father, his disabled brother Emil and Lilly, the mother of the two, trudged on the night of 19 to 20 January 1945, at minus 21 degrees: three People with three soaked cardboard cases. It was 17 years before Simone's birth, and yet it's her own fear. Simone loves her father Eustace - but does not get close to him. Eustachius Grolmann, 83, is a war child. Growing up in the propaganda state, fled Silesia in 1945 to the West. He is still haunted by the memories of his brother's escape and death.
