And the price and the time it takes to read it do not add up?<br/>I always face this dilemma when I finish a first graphic novel in a series.<br/><br/>It was immensely creative - the pictures as well as the story itself. It's sci-fi, but innovative and with lots of space to grow even better. Also, the combination - eternal war, space exploration and young parents - is just brilliant.<br/><br/>Read it - but be warned: You will want to know how it continues.
Reviewed by JuliaThis was not for me. I get it why you can fell in love with the world-building, the characters and the big story line. But I couldn’t get over the goriness of it all, the depiction of gruesome violence. It was just too graphic for me. And it’s a shame because I really liked most of the ideas like the space rocket forest, the pacifist warrior, revengeful ghost kids. But still I couldn’t get over some of the shocking panels. But then I also can’t watch any horror movies and shut my eyes whenever a bloody hit is landed in any blockbuster. If you can stomach sexual and bodily violence, you are up for a fantastic treat. An amazing dip into a fierce science fiction- fantasy cocktail with a lovely family at it’s core.
