Things haven't been going well in the master carpenter Eder's workshop for days. Screws and nails, planes and locks are constantly disappearing. Maybe Master Eder is getting old or has he gotten off on the wrong foot? Then the thing with the glue pot happens. Eder can hardly believe it, but there is actually a little red-haired goblin stuck to the glue and complaining like a pig. According to the goblin law, he now has to stay with the master carpenter forever, and he soon realizes that such laws are not to be trifled with.
