Reviewed by jetteThe characters and writing style were awesome. I enjoyed the various perspectives one sees the story from, especially those short little sidestories about a singular soldier in battle or a priest being utterly stunned to see an intruder on their holy ground. It just gives the book so much more depths and realness. However I am a sucker for magic and seeing the workings behind it and the training, and that was not as present as I had wished for. But in exchange politics and culture was very central to the story, which I enjoyed reading about almost as much.
