Reviewed by LeaNach persönlicher Empfehlung meiner ehemaligen Englischlehrerin kam ich nach ziemlich genau sechs Jahren (!!) auch endlich mal dazu, den Klassiker „Lord of the Flies“ zu lesen. Die Handlung ist ziemlich wild und interessant zugleich - eine Gruppe britischer Schuljungen stürzen mit einem Flugzeug auf einer einsamen Insel ab und sind ohne Erwachsene ganz auf sich allein gestellt. Für mich war es eine Mischung aus der Serie „Lost“ und gegen Ende auch aus „Die Tribute von Panem“. Anfangs hatte ich noch meine Probleme gehabt, in das Buch einzusteigen, was größtenteils an Goldings repetitiven und beschreibenden Schreibstil lag, aber auch an der Menge an Vokabular, mit dem ich noch nicht ganz vertraut war. Das hat das Lesen für mich etwas erschwert. Den Handlungsverlauf fand ich jedoch sehr spannend, auch wenn mir das Ende etwas willkürlich vorkam. „Piggy“ tat mir von Anfang an sehr leid, meiner Meinung nach ist er sogar der Held der Geschichte.
