The story is fast pace, so those who prefer slow burn are in the wrong here. (It was too fast for me tbh) The theme was very dark and gritty. We are talking about dead people walking among the living like zombies, and women giving birth to dead babies on full moons. I must say, however, that enjoyed this type of topic, as it was something different from the previous books I read. The FMC character was rather less ladylike, but someone women can relate to. And the MC, as always, was pretty badass. Who can resist a tall, handsome and moody lover? The chemistry between the two is almost perfect, even if the methods the MC uses to force his lady love to stay are partly questionable.. I'm talking about imprisonment, assault and many other things. Who sees such things critically, should perhaps choose a different book. And about the spice level? It is one of the books with the most sexual scenes I have read so far. The scenes are very explicit and long. So if you are looking for dark enemies to lovers this is the book for you. The ending surprised me but I’m not sure if I will continue the series.
