Lowkey boring and dry. I started it back in June but couldn’t finish it before it was due so I had to wait to re borrow it. I feel like we’ve just lost the plot here. Maybe I don’t fully understand the previous book or this book, but (SPOILER) once Leto ii turns into a worm… like what are we doing here? I read this as an audiobook which def made it more digestible. I’m interested to see how many movies they actually end up doing in the franchise but I really can’t see them sticking to this plot, if they do get this far.
Hot damn! Third time's a charm. Picked it up earlier this year and put it down after 15 pages, too weird, giant worm, no thanks. Brought it camping this summer and started it again, still not into it. Then after contemplating it for another 6 weeks I dove back in and genuinely enjoyed it. Really heady, stranger than the other books. My second favorite of the series. I hear the last 2 books are absolute garbage but I've been having so much fun with this series I might wade in despite the warnings.
