Reviewed by Mrs Moriarty"American Psycho" sammelt Wiederholungen und diese ständige Ansammlung von Markenartikeln hat mich zunehmend gelangweilt. Ich habe den Eindruck das Ellis damals unbedingt schockieren wollte. Und das schon zwanghaft. Auch das ist etwas ermüdend, weil man es meiner Meinung nach sehr merkt... Trotzdem hat der Roman durchaus eine morbide Faszination. Die Beschreibungen der Morde sollte man allerdings aushalten können. Oder lesen wollen. Persönlich hat es mir an manchen Stellen sehr gut, an anderen überhaupt nicht gefallen. Insgesamt finde ich "The Shards", Ellis neuesten Roman sehr viel ausgereifter und besser komponiert. Obwohl sich die Themen ähneln (vor allem im Oberthema Psychopathischer Serienmörder^^).
