First of i didn`t feel comfortable while reading it and there where also a few this said that i personally really thought were disrespectful and stuff like that. The topic in thi sbook is something that should be written about very carefully but here it was just very insensitive
Reviewed by Franziska GieseckeWhat a book but actually I should say... what an author. If Nick Hornby isn't talented as hell, I don't know who is. OK. So we have four completely different characters and Hornby even changes his language and type of writing, that you really can feel into the character. For example Jess is an 18 year old girl, with...let's say much temperament, but she doesn't know where she can find the quotation marks are and so she writes (you can see my favourite quote of hers on my quote collection). This was a thing, that really helped me reading. Maureen is a nice, religious woman, who doesn't like swearing so every swear word is cut out. I'm definitely reading more books by Nick Hornby (I hess "About a Boy" is my next). Also I suggest to buy the penguin version of the book. The cover is nicer and it's handier.
