J. B. Kaufman ist Autor und Filmhistoriker. Bekannt wurde er durch Veröffentlichungen und Vorträge über Disneys Trickfilme, den amerikanischen Stummfilm und verwandte Themen. Zu seinen Büchern gehören The Fairest One of All: The Making of Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, South of the Border with Disney und Pinocchio: The Making of the Disney Epic. Gemeinsam mit Russell Merritt veröffentlichte er das preisgekrönte Buch Walt in Wonderland: The Silent Films of Walt Disney.
