Tolle erste Hälfte, richtig schön atmosphärisch. Im zweiten Teil etwas zu viel "it's Always been you". Aber großartige Protagonisten und eine richtig schöne Liebesgeschichte
Why on gods given green earth would you ever wrote something so gut wrenching as that?
⭐️ 4 stars. This book felt like a warm hug. It’s a childhood friends to lovers, slow burn, mm romance — soft, emotional, and just so sweet. Ellis has selective mutism, and even though he struggles with speaking, his inner monologue shows how deeply he feels and loves. Lucky is his opposite — talkative, free-spirited, full of light. They balance each other perfectly. Ellis sees him as a firefly: someone who shines, flies freely, but always comes back to him. That metaphor alone made my heart melt. There isn’t a big, dramatic plot here — it’s definitely more character-driven — but it works because the romance is strong, the characters have depth, and their connection feels real. They’ve loved each other all along, even when they didn’t admit it, and watching that finally unfold was beautiful. This was tender, heartfelt, and just plain cute. Definitely the kind of book that leaves you smiling (and maybe crying a little too).
