Rezension von DianaDiese Geschichte hat mich komplett mitgerissen. Von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite war ich emotional so tief in der Handlung gefangen, dass ich das Buch kaum aus der Hand legen konnte. Die Themen waren unglaublich tiefgründig, berührend und teilweise so schmerzhaft ehrlich, dass sie mich immer wieder zu Tränen gerührt haben. Verzweiflung, Trauer, Hoffnung, Liebe. Dieses Buch schafft es, Gefühle nicht nur zu beschreiben, sondern sie spürbar zu machen. Die Charaktere und ihre Entwicklung haben mich emotional völlig abgeholt. Man leidet mit, hofft mit und zerbricht stellenweise fast ein bisschen mit ihnen. Gerade diese emotionale Tiefe macht die Geschichte so besonders und hebt sie von vielen anderen Büchern ab. Und dann dieses Ende… Was war das bitte? Unerwartet, intensiv und ehrlich gesagt auch ein wenig deprimierend. Ich hatte so sehr auf ein anderes Ende gehofft, vielleicht auf etwas mehr Heilung oder Hoffnung. Stattdessen blieb bei mir eine Mischung aus Sprachlosigkeit, Schmerz und Nachdenklichkeit zurück. Trotzdem, oder vielleicht genau deswegen, wird mich dieses Buch noch lange begleiten.

Rezension von JessieOne of my favorite dark romance series so far. This whole psychology and psychiatric institution vibe is so good. I didn't want the book to end but at the same time I wanted to know more about the world building, the characters etc. The story all in all is bitter sweet and please read the content warning. I felt a lot of emotions during this read and also days after I still couldn't truly let go

Rezension von SarahI really loved The Pawn and the Puppet. The story completely pulled me in and kept me hooked from start to finish. The tension, the dynamics between the characters, and the emotional depth made it hard to put down. It felt intense, well written, and far from predictable.
