The opposite of love This book was really good it resembled self sabotage, grief, depression, growth, and family! The overview Emily is dealing with grief and sadness from watching her best friend, grandpa, and overall favorite person get sick and start deteriorating. He has altimers and it makes it so he's not always in the present, but he also has colon cancer and starts slowly losing weight which makes the griefing process start early since she is watching him die. She also is dealing with the fact that life took her mom at such a young age that she barely remembers her and wishes she did. Since her mom passed, it's been hard for her to communicate with her father. They drift apart a little, but once Grandpa Jack gets sick, they reunite and start repairing their relationship. Emily also broke up with her boyfriend of 1 1/2 years because she was afraid that she would lose him. (Kinda crazy right, leaving before they leave you. That is so real though). Once she figures herself out and talks about her grief in therapy is when she realizes that she messed up and needs to fix it. She starts emailing him and then eventually shows up at his house. They do get back together. My rating and why I give this a solid 4 ⭐️ it was well written and super moving in every way. I would definitely recommend giving it a read.
