Rezension von Elias DolecekI love the idea of Addie LaRue. It’s a wonderful concept and I love how it ends. But—and this is a substantial but—Schwab does something with her narrative voice that I do not like. I am a fan of her writing style, I love how she builds sentences, and I do here, too, but in this book it feels like she is trying very hard to be whimsical. There’s an awful lot of eventuallys and but-not-yets, all these vague prophecies about the future of the story, and it feels like the narrator parading around knowledge but refusing to share. At the same time we are jumping between times and know the grand scheme of things, technically, and then we still linger in the past. All to serve a purpose of course, but at times it simply feels like taking unnecessary detours.

Rezension von Renata MartinsCozy and easy Romance! A story across Time, simple to follow along. I enjoyed the reading and the mood of this book - but for a 300 year old woman, I would hope Addie would have a bit more depth.
