Rezension von HelenI loved the concept of this book — seriously, the idea had me hooked. And honestly? It wasn’t bad at all. It was good. Just…not more than that. Not a whole lot actually happened, but to be fair, this is historical fantasy — so that kind of slow pace was expected, and I didn’t really mind it. What did throw me off, though, was the fact that the book was split into three completely different sections. Like… okay, I get it, it made sense plot-wise, and Part 2 was genuinely great! But the other two? Meh. Just kinda there. I also had a super clunky start — I spent a good chunk of the beginning just trying to figure out what the book was even about beyond the whole “binding memories into books” thing. And to be honest, the characters didn’t really grab me. The writing felt pretty distant, so I never formed a strong emotional connection with any of them. But hey — overall, it was still a solid read. Let’s be real: tragic queer love stories will always have me in a chokehold.
