Rezension von Caroll-Ann📖 The American Roommate Experiment by Elena Armas ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫✨ 3,75 stars This book had been sitting on my TBR for about four years before I finally decided to pick it up, and I’m so glad I did. I really enjoyed Elena’s writing style from start to finish. I’m a big fan of dual-POV romances because I love experiencing the story from both the female and male perspectives. It adds so much depth to the romance, and that was definitely the case here. I also really liked Rosie and Lucas as the main characters, especially Lucas. I can’t quite explain why, but I completely fell in love with his character. While this wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read, I still enjoyed it a lot. Stories like this always make me miss that exciting feeling of falling in love and being completely giddy about someone. Overall, it’s a solid romance novel that I’d happily recommend to anyone looking for a sweet and heartwarming love story. The only thing that would have made it even better for me is if Rosie and Lucas had been explored in more depth. In particular, I wish the book had delved further into Lucas’s traumatic accident and its impact on him, as I felt there was a lot of potential there that remained largely unexplored.

Rezension von Nina 🏹Ich hab’s endlich geschafft. Ich weiß, ich weiß. Wenn mir ein Buch nicht gefällt, warum breche ich es dann nicht einfach ab? Diese Fähigkeit habe ich mir noch nicht angeeignet 🥴 Aber dann nehme ich auch immer gern die Ausrede, dass ich manchmal Bücher lese, nur um euch danach zu sagen, ob es sich gelohnt hat oder nicht. Und bei diesem Buch muss ich leider sagen, es hat sich nicht gelohnt 🙃 Mir hat ja bereits das erste Buch, A Spanish Love Deception, nicht so gut gefallen, aber mit diesem wollte ich der Autorin noch eine Chance geben. Und irgendwie fand ich es sogar noch langweiliger als das erste?? Also, zuallererst: Das Buch gat auf jeden Fall den Slow Burn trope, weil bis etwa 70-75% passiert zwischen den Protagonisten nichts. Leider war der Anfang des Buches schon direkt sehr cringe. Ich hatte es vor 10 Monaten schon mal versucht zu lesen und habe es dann nach zwei Kapiteln weggelegt, weil... wtf? Sie hat seit einem Jahr einen Crush auf ihn – wegen Instagram. Kein Scherz, sie hat sich in seine Instagram-Persona verliebt, in jedes Foto, in jede Caption. Ihre Worte, nicht meine 🫠 Die Liebesgeschichte hat mich überhaupt nicht berührt, ich finde Rosie und Lucas hatten leider überhaupt keine Chemie und auch mit Rosie als Charakter bin ich irgendwie nicht warm geworden.
