Rezension von JessicaWar das Buch die epischte Fantasy, die ich je gelesen habe? - Nein. Brauchte es dieses überkomplexe Worldbuilding mit zig erfundenen Begriffen für Elementarmagie? - Nein. Hat das Ende nochmal unnötigerweise einen neuen Handlungsstrang aufgemacht, der wahrscheinlich nie fortgeführt wird? - Ja. Und dennoch hat mich das Buch sehr berührt, denn diese Geschichte lebt von den wahnsinnig gut ausgearbeiteten Charakteren, die alle (auch die kleinen Nebencharaktere) so viele Tiefe besitzen, dass man eintaucht und nicht anders kann, als mit ihnen mitzufühlen. Das ist die große Stärke dieses Buches, denn man liebt, leidet, bricht zusammen mit den Charakteren, aber schließt das Buch ebenso wie sie mit einem bittersüßem Gefühl, das aber perfekt zum Buch passt.

Rezension von Le GertDie Geschichte, die Charaktere, das Worldbuilding und die Kämpfe waren absolut genau mein Geschmack. "Leider" ein Standalone. Ich hätte so gerne mehr über diese Welt erfahren. Wenn in "Avatar - The Last Airbender" der Krieg ausbrechen würde, würde es wahrscheinlich so sein wie bei "The Sword of Kaigen"
