⭐️ 4 stars (emotionally, it feels like 5 — but it’s complicated). This was the first book me and my friend picked for our little book club, and I think it was such a good one to start with. It has the perfect mix of summer vibes and deep emotions, and it was a story we were both really excited to read. I honestly don’t know how to rate this book. My heart hurts, my face hurts from crying, and I’m still not sure how I feel — just that I feel so much. This book destroyed me in the most gentle, beautiful, painful way. It’s a love story, but not just one. It’s about first love, second love, grief, timing, healing, and how life doesn’t always give us perfect answers. Sometimes love changes form. Sometimes it stays. Sometimes it slips away when you least expect it. I loved the writing, the setting, the characters — and the way the story unfolds between past and present is so bingeable, even when it’s deeply emotional. I felt connected to both of the men in Liv’s life. And even though I adored one of them more (and truly believed he was the one), I understand why the story ended the way it did. I don’t think the ending was bitter. I think it was soft. Quiet. A little tragic, a little healing. It gave Liv peace — even if it broke my heart. This isn’t a book I’ll ever reread, but I’ll think about it for a long time. And I’ll probably cry every time I do.
