It took me a while to think about what I should write in this review and actually I'm still not sure. Klara and the Sun was definitely very interesting and I liked it a lot. For someone like me who loves Detroit Become Human this book was perfect. In the beginning I was confused about two things and I thought I missed something but it turned out to be intended to make the whole AF/AI thing more realistic. The first thing was that Klara, whenever she came to a new surrounding or a situation was very confusing and busy, she created a grid in her mind and described everything she saw with the help of "boxes". It took me a while to understand what she meant by those boxes and where they came from but in the end I think this is a brilliant idea to show that she is in fact not human but an AI. Second: Things that don't seem relevant for Klara at the moment are not told. Like when Klara listened to a conversation and something was mentioned most of the time she wouldn't ask for more information, instead she just went with the facts that she got and this is totally fine for her. While reading it was sometimes really frustrating (but in a kind of good way, I think?) because I desperately wanted to know more about it but Klara wouldn't ask because she was satisfied with what she got. Maybe it sounds like the author didn't want to write more about it but actually that's not true. Especially the two points I mentioned were a really great way to show that Klara is not human and therefore doesn't think like one either. Also that one plot twist?? I was really shocked but also relieved because I had a supposition and I was scared for it to come true. It didn't. Luckily. BUT what happened instead shocked me because I never thought of it as something that could happen. So yeah. The plot twist was definitely good. I think Klara and the Sun is a very special book that shows a lot of new perspectives. I also liked that it was the pov of an AI because this gave so many new possibilities that were used really good. I'm really happy to have read this book and advise everyone that likes AI stuff to read it. And even people that don't like it because the book also shows the human behavior in some way.
