They say nothing compares to your first kiss,But our first kiss was orchestrated for an audience. Our second kiss . . . that one was REAL.He cradled my face like he was terrified he'd f*ck it up.He stared into my eyes until the air buzzed.Soft and slow, full of sighs and little laughs,He inhaled me like I was the finest Belgian chocolate,And he'd never get another piece.A nip of his teeth, his hand at my waist . . .And I was lost.I forgot he was paying me to be his fake fiancée.I forgot we weren't REAL.Our kiss was pure magic, and before you laugh and say those kinds of kisses don't exist,Then you've never touched lips with Max Kent, the hottest quarterback in college history.

Admittedly I did not expect this to be a college romance. But oh it was adorable! Ilsa Madden-Mills really knows how to write NA romances. Max is such a good guy! Sure, he's a bit arrogant and self assured but he's also really caring and sweet. Sunny, while I don't like that name, was also a very likable character. She was sweet and nice and I liked how she handled herself throughout the whole thing. I really liked that there was no unnecessary drama. This one's a real feel good read. On a side note: this books also has the groupie girls as side characters and I really hate that because I think it's unnecessary for the story and downgrading for women - it's complete double standard. And I hate the representation of women as people who throw themselves at successful men for money or fame. Really, really hate it. But compared to other books in the romance genre, this one kept the slut shaming to a minimum. Still wish it weren't there at all but I guess sadly that's asking too much of the genre.
