Rezension von Madame MiscEs dauert nicht lang und schon machen wir Bekanntschaft mit dem Cold Hill House. Das fand ich ziemlich gut denn ich war schon echt gespannt was es damit auf sich hat. Leider kam ich anfangs aber nicht so mit dem Schreibstil zurecht. Er ist sehr ausufernd. Bis ins kleinste Detail. Dabei interessiert mich weder, was er sich auf sein Sandwich macht, noch welche Zeitungen die Leute abonniert haben. Also es wird alles wirklich genau erklärt. Dazu kommt dass man unheimlich viel darüber liest was in der Wohnung gemacht werden muss, und was gerade gemacht wird. Also von den Bauarbeitern ect. Auch über die Arbeit des Protagonisten wird unheimlich viel geschrieben. Im späteren Verlauf wird das zwar noch relevant aber das hätte man auch dezenter hinbekommen können. Als wenn das aber noch nicht reicht, muss die Familie natürlich auch mehrere Mal alle Fenster durchgehen damit man auch ja versteht wo welches Zimmer liegt. Hätte man sich ebenfalls schenken können. Das alles hat ziemlich den Lesefluss gestört und einem ein wenig die Spannung geraubt. Die sonstige Geschichte war wirklich gut. Mir hat der Aufbau der Story sehr gut gefallen und auch das Setting ist echt klasse. Man bekommt einen sehr guten Eindruck von diesem alten Gebäude. Trotz der Kritik die ich bisher angebracht habe, kommt man hier sehr schnell voran und so hatte ich das Buch in zwei Tagen durch. Zum Ende hin wurde es dann nicht nur immer spannender sondern auch immer chaotischer und ich muss gestehen, ich habe noch nicht so wirklich geschnallt was zum Schluss mit einem der Protagonisten passiert ist. Für mich war das Ende zwar abgeschlossen aber alles andere als aufgeklärt und das fand ich dann doch schade. Fazit Das Haus in Cold Hill ist zwar ziemlich spannend und kann auch mit einigen, gruseligen Vorkommnissen punkten, allerdings war mir zum einen der Schreibstil anfangs viel zu ausufernd und zum anderen das Ende einfach nicht abgeschlossen genug. Allerdings lässt es sich dennoch sehr gut lesen und hat so einige spannende Stellen.
