There’s something really entrancing about the life of the rich, or at least how Kevin Kwan writes their lives. Having watched and adored the movie adaptation, I’m pleasantly surprised at the changes that were made to give the movie a sense of added extravagance and story beats needed to translate this story to the screen. I especially enjoy the tidbits of Singaporean and Malaysian language sprinkled throughout the book, as a Malaysian myself. While the (sometimes obnoxious) foul language is always jarring to read for me, I think it ties well with the Asian tendency to swear a lot (believe me, they do). Overall, a great read that transports you to a mystical world of the billionaires.

super unterhaltsame und mega spannende Mischung aus Glamour, Familiendrama und jeder Menge Klatsch. Hat mich an Gossip Girl erinnert, aber mit skurrileren Charakteren. Leicht, witzig und überdreht 😄
