Trash TV as a book and I love it!
⭐️ 4 stars. This was my first ever why choose and honestly… who even am I anymore? Is the writing the best? No. Is this literary excellence? Absolutely not. Was I addicted, obsessed, thinking about it when I wasn’t reading and having the time of my life? YES. This book feels like trash TV in the best way possible. It’s messy, dramatic, unhinged and ridiculously entertaining. I genuinely felt high while reading it. That’s the only way I can explain it. Oli is THAT girl. She’s powerful, hot, doesn’t take shit and refuses to be owned, even when five bonded men are literally circling her. I loved her energy so much and she carried this book for me. Now… the boys. We have five of them and somehow I survived. Gryphon is my favorite. I was swooning. The things he did for her? Yeah, I folded. Gabe and Atlas are also up there, although Atlas makes me a little suspicious and I don’t even know why. North is… there. I don’t hate him, but I don’t love him either. Nox? Yeah no. He’s at the bottom. Redemption arc or not, I’m already side-eyeing him. They are kind of dicks in this first book, not gonna lie. Very Zodiac Academy energy (which I love). But that just made me more curious to see their development and the slow burn of everything falling apart and coming together. This book did exactly what it was supposed to do. It entertained me, pulled me out of a slump and made me want to binge the rest of the series immediately. It’s not perfect. It’s not deep literature. But it was FUN. And sometimes that’s exactly what a book needs to be.
