Honestly, I don't really know what to say about this book. It started off really gripping, but I lost interest somewhere in the middle, and now at the end I'm not sure if I want to keep reading, especially after that plot twist. I liked the writing style, it was very detailed and made me feel like I was actually part of that world. The tension between Takeshi and Khalani was good too, but the plot around it felt too drawn out for me. Still, I love the concept and the world in this book, which is why I'm so unsure. That said, I'd probably still recommend this book, especially if you're looking for a true slow burn enemies-to-lovers dystopian story.

So I really saw the potential, even though I'm not the biggest fan of SciFi, however, the story wasn't quite where it could have been. There was poetry within it which was cute and I see where the author wanted to go, especially given the current political situation in the world (so many parallels) but it simply wasn't enough to make me love it. I finished half the book in record speed but then I immensely slowed down as the storyline started to lose me a little. I'm not quite sure what to make of the romance as it should be slow burn and enemies to lovers but he is her prison guard, apparently the baddest of them all and threatens her but she forgets all about it because he helps her after an attempt rape? Like that's bare minimum, even in prison, especially if we're talking about the person who should keep you safe. At times there were plot holes as well and what was that ending?

Perfektes Tempo, absolut fesselnd.

Schade. Der Einstieg war für mich vielversprechend
