1.75⭐ – DNF @ 55% Boys With Sharp Teeth was one of my most anticipated reads of 2025, which makes this all the more disappointing. I was drawn in by the premise. It had all the makings of something eerie, intense, and unforgettable. Unfortunately, what I got was a painfully slow and meandering narrative that just couldn’t hold my attention. I kept hoping it would pick up, that something would happen to justify the long buildup... but at 55%, I still felt like I was waiting for the story to truly begin. The atmosphere had potential and the writing wasn’t bad, but the pacing dragged everything down. I’m usually pretty patient with slow burns, but this one never sparked. It’s such a shame because the premise had so much potential, and I wanted to like it. It’s not often I DNF a book this far in, but I found myself dreading every time I picked it up, which is never a good sign. I’m sure it might click with readers who enjoy a very slow burn, but it just wasn’t for me.
