Rezension von Raphaela Haunted House mal anders. Eine spannende Geschichte, die dem schon sehr ausgeschöpften Thema des Geisterhauses eine interessante neue Seite abgewinnen kann.
Rezension von LisaDieses Buch war mal etwas ganz anderes, da ich sonst nicht all zu viele Gruselbücher lese. Es hat mich aber sofort in seinen Bann gezogen und konnte eine gute Gruselstimmung bewahren. Es ist in meinen Augen kein Horrorbuch, mich hat es eher an die erste Staffel American Horror Story erinnert, da es viele herumspukende Gestalten gibt, die an das Haus gebunden sind. Dabei steht im Zentrum die Protagonistin, die gelernt hat, dass es Regeln zu befolgen gibt, wenn man im Frieden mit diesem Haus leben möchte. Doch als im September Gegebenheiten dazu führen, dass sie diese Regeln nicht mehr so leicht befolgen kann, geraten die Dinge außer Kontrolle, ein dunkles Familiengeheimnis tritt zum Vorschein und erübrigt die Frage: Was denn überhaupt der wahre Grusel der Geschichte ist. Für mich war das Buch wirklich eine gelungene herbstliche Grusellektüre.
Rezension von MichelleIch habe etwas gebraucht, um in die Story reinzukommen. Aber was war das bitte für ein cooles Setting? Absolute American Horror Story Vibes 🤭 Und einfach mal eine andere Art von „Herbst-Buch“! Am Anfang konnte man nicht verstehen, wieso Margaret das Verschwinden von Hal so leichtfällig hinnimmt, aber es kamen immer mehr Geheimnisse heraus, die in ernsten Themen wie Häusliche Gewalt und Kontrolle mündeten. Ich hatte die ganze Zeit gedacht, dass die Auflösung im „ersten Twist“ endet & war dann schon enttäuscht, als ich Recht hatte - aber dann kam ja nochmal ein Twist 🫣 Am Ende ging es mir jedoch etwas zu schnell und Ein Epilog wäre schön gewesen! Aber sonst echt ein unterhaltsames Spukbuch, wo nicht nur die Gruselelemente im Fokus stehen, sondern auch die Charaktere 🥰

The first third, I have to say, was a bit boring. And towards the end... BOOM...!! Perfectly described horror!
