It was a very heavy read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I tried to think of which sister I was more like and what I would do if I were in either of their situations.
It was life changing for me. I won’t be going into detail why (bc spoilers) just know it was. I lived through all the emotions and HIGHLY recommend.
I will say in the beginning you have to pay really close attention to what's going on. From there on out, this book went by fast. Don't be intimidated by how thick it is because it moves pretty fast. I am not a big fan of historical fiction and I enjoyed this more than I thought. I did not like how quickly everything ended. I feel we should have known what happened with more detail after Isabel and Gaeton were reunited.
diving into historical fiction lately… and wow, The Nightingale blew me away.
