🫧 #TheGingerbreadBakery had all the ingredients for a cozy, feel-good read… but unfortunately didn’t fully deliver😭 Let’s start with the positives✨ The cover is absolutely adorable and immediately gives off cozy, comforting vibes🤍 I also adored the presence of the cats🐱 They were was so so cute and definitely added some charm to the story. It’s a very easy read - the writing style is simple and accessible, so it’s not difficult to get through📚 However… I struggled with this one quite a bit. The story felt very very veeeeery slow and honestly a bit boring - I found it really hard to stay engaged🥲 The plot didn’t really capture my interest, and I kept waiting for something to happen that would pull me in - but it never quite did🫣 Another issue for me was the large number of characters. There were so many names being introduced that I quickly lost track of who was who, which made it even harder to stay connected to the story🥴 So yeah, sometimes cozy just isn’t enough on its own - and sadly, this one didn’t quite work for me 🍪 . . . . .
